New York City officials said Sunday they had arrested a “lone wolf” terrorist and al-Qaeda sympathizer who planned to use pipe bombs to target police officers, post offices and servicemembers returning from combat.Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Jose Pimentel, 27, a resident of Manhattan and U.S. citizen born in the Dominican Republic, was arrested Saturday after being under investigation since 2009.
